I Deputed for the one week training programme at NSS empanelled training institute Karnataka state open university, manasa gangotri, mysore from 01st sep to 7th sep 2017
On 10th of Nov 2017 voluntary blood donation camp was organized at the college Hall. Medical team consisting of one doctor & five other supporting staff of Mandya Govt. Hospital had arriver at 9:30 AM after having done all the necessary arrangements the voluntary blood donation was started from 10:00 AM in full swing the doctor on duty carefully examined all the NSS volunteer before the donation & only those who were found eligible were allowed to donate blood. A large No. of volunteer were found not eligible, Around 69 units of blood were donated on this day.
National Service Scheme (NSS) of Bharathi College of Pharmacy has conducted Health Screening Camp and Dengue Awareness Programme at Nelamakanahalli on 3rd January 2018, in that Health Screening Camp and Dengue Fever Awareness Program was organized. The inauguration program was started at 11:00 AM Dr.T.Tamizhmani (Director of Health Sciences, BET) inaugurated the function and Dr. G. P. Senthilkumar (Principal, Bharathi College of Pharmacy), Mr. Basavaraju (President of Gramapanchayath), Dr.B.S. Suresha (H.O.D, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice) and Mrs. Bhavya (In-charge, Govt. High school, Nelmakanahalli) was present on the dais. The prayer song was sung by Ms. Anusha (II B. Pharm). Then the traditional lamp lightening ceremony was done by all the dignitaries in stage. Thereafter pamphlets of Diabetes Mellitus & Dengue fever awareness were released by all honorable guests. The inaugural address was delivered by our beloved Director Dr. T. Tamizhmani and Mrs. Bhavya (In-charge, Govt. High school, Nelmakanahalli) also delivered a speech. Mr. Nandan H.N (V Pharm. D) done anchoring in the morning session and vote of thanks was given by Ms. Sinchana (III B. Pharm). As a part of village visit, Dengue fever awareness rally was conductedin Nelamakanahalli by NSS volunteers of BCP students and facultiesat 11.30 AM. After the rally, the Health screening camp started at 12.00 PM. Blood Grouping, Blood Pressure measurement, Blood Glucose level measurement & Patient counseling was done during the camp. Delicious lunch for the day was arranged for all the Guests, staff and students at school at 1:30 PM. After lunch, 2nd session of health screening camp started at 2.00 PM. An orientation program for Dengue fever awareness was givento high school students at 2:30 PM by Dr. Divyashre N. (Asst. Professor, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, BCP).
Around 200 villagers were screened in this camp. This Health Screening Camp was organized by Mr.Suresha D.N (NSS Programme officer, Asst. Professor, BCP), Dr. Vishwas A. T. L (Asst. Professor, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, BCP). Dr.B.S Suresha, Mrs. A. Vikneshwari, Dr. Joga Sasidhar, Dr. Divyashree. N, Mr.Jagadeesh C. S were the other faculties co-ordinated in this one day program. The session waswinded up at 4:00 PM.
The most significant and cherished programme of the NSS was the Medical camp. A free Medical cheek up camp was conducted on 07-01-2018 In the nearby village called Madenahalli , Which is 8km far from the college in association Uday Health care and Govt. hospital K M doddi, the Medical camps started at 9 AM in presence of following dignitories Welcome speech by Dr. Tamizh Mani T ( Director of Health sciences, BET), Dr G.P. Senthilkumar (Principal, Bharathi college of Pharmacy), followed by a prayer song by the school students after the prayer swachabarath Habyan and tree sapling was conducted in and around the school premises, Around 50 sapling plantation was done on this day.
General check –up was done by the doctors of Govt. hospital. All our NSS volunteer activity participated in areas of registration of patients & Measurement of their weight & height fallowed by Patient counseling, Blood grouping & Sugar Testing was also done by our students then they were directed to general practitioner for general health cheek up.
Eye check-up was done by the doctors of Uday Health Care in which they were identified that 40 patients has problem in night & 22 patients were subjected for cataract surgery. During this camp around 220 participates got benefited. During the camp breakfast, lunch and necessary refreshment were provided to the doctors, teachers and to all NSS volunteers. the Medical camp ended at 6 PM the camp was successful as there were number of patients who attended the camp & were examined by the Medical teams, there after free drugs were distributed to the patients the local community requested the organization to continue providing Medical care for the village.
Our NSS Unit was conducted manava sarapalli rally on January 30th at main circle, Bharathinagara in association with other students.
